Getting to know...
Congratulations to Danette Wilkinson, our current featured vision team member! Danette has been such an instrumental part of this ministry with both her generosity and prayers! Danette and I first met, well…..the day I was born. She’s my big sister by 10 years and has been a rock and a lifeline for me.
Danette has been in the nursing field for about 15 years and most recently became a college nursing instructor at Spoon River College. She’s a wife to Brian (the best barber around) and the mother of 3 including Weston who’s almost 16 and twins Wade and Vanessa 13. Danette and her husband Brian have quite the story of how they came to Christ. A very nice couple (now we like to think of them as angels), arrived from California and moved just down the street. Danette and Brian quickly sparked a friendship with the couple. The angel's names were Mike & Betty. They helped enrich Danette and Brian's marriage as well as introduce Brian to the barbering profession. Soon they were going to a contemporary evening service together which gave them just the "realness" they needed to feed and nurture their own faith journeys. I am very thankful to Mike and Betty for arriving at the perfect time.
Since launching this ministry, Danette and her family have been behind me 100% with encouragement and such a giving heart. She believes in me, in which gives me courage and strength to forge ahead in growing a vibrant ministry. She and her great family live in Canton, IL.
